This book really needs to replace What to Expect When You're Expecting. I wish this were the book that was given in prenatal packets to all expecting women at their initial visit. This is THE book you want to read to help you make decisions about common routines and interventions in birth as well as strong evidence to support physiologic birth at home when possible. I love that it is written by a doctor, and she has a long history of medical practitioners in her family that also attended births in the community setting. One of the only well-rounded books that also covers the early postpartum period. Super easy to read. A few birth stories through in for positive encouragement. So, so good!
